Some misc. photos of what else we've been doing lately

December has been a busy month around here, feels like one big continuous party! Anyway, on those extra days in between we have been trying to get out to play at the parks and go to the zoo as much as possible since the weather is so nice. Three weekends ago, this tiny country we call Qatar, celebrated their Independence Day. So we tried to get in on some of those events as well. Mostly it was just fun to watch how the locals celebrate it! I have included one such picture, wouldn't Canada Day be SO much more fun if we did things like this to our cars ;0)

Adair having a tea party, this was one of her birthday presents.
Standing all by herself! (With support, but still...)
Sharing secrets, or kisses, at the park with Kelsey.
Going down the slide with a little help from big brother.

Christmas in Doha, 2009

Well, this is what Dec. 25th looked like at our house :0) Jarv spent the morning playing with the kids and their new toys. They had lots of fun, and I....well, I played for awhile and then had a nice peaceful time cleaning the house ;0)

Daudi's new Vintage car collection!
....and a race track!
And a mechanic set from Gina, Michael and Kelsey. How perfect, toys to take COMPLETELY apart and put back together again! Just like having a Firebird!!

The Party

After our meeting yesterday everyone stayed for Christmas dinner and a little party. This year for Christmas dinner we had bar-b-que chicken shishtook, from our new local Turkish restaurant, and Jarvis bar-b-qued some prawns, quite tasty, if I do say so! Its also Peter's birthday on Tues. (#26) so Carmen made him a carrot birthday cake for dessert, which was very delicious too! Then we played some games and were thoroughly entertained by Hugh, I don't know what we'd do without his hilarious self :0) So fun to be together for Christmas, this is the first time none of us have been away for it.

Happy Birthday Peter!
Peter and Lorenzo
Playing Quiddler and eating the gingerbread house.
Ronald and Jarv deeply involved in Chess
Hugh the Quiddler King and Peter the Boggle Champ (I am no longer holding that title after playing with Peter!)

Happy Holidays!

Here are a few shots of what the kids have been doing the last few days. Keeping busy doing the kinds of things everybody does this time of year :0) They made a little wreath for our front door and yesterday we had a cookie day. Adair wasn't much for decorating, but she could do the taste testing and Daudi was right with her. He did decorate a few cookies though, with much coaxing to keep focused on just decorating NOT eating!

Just beginning...

Carmen came to help and ended up doing MOST of them :0)

The finished product....do you like my log cabin?

1 Year Old

Well, we had the birthday party today. The esteemed guests were 'Papa Hugh' and Grandma Carolyn, Aunty Carmen, Gina and Kelsey, and our neighbors Kimball and Leslie in #2. Too bad Kim and Leslie didn't bring Amber (their dog), she would've had many floor goodies to clean up! It was a nice day, as it rained yesterday so none today, just a little too breezy to light the candle. However, we didn't eat ALL the cupcakes so maybe Adair could try her luck at blowing out the candle tomorrow on her actual birthday :0) I think she had fun today, she contracted a bit of a snuffly nose last night so wasn't feeling top notch, but she did pretty good. A certain big brother sure likes birthdays anyway. He needed quite a bit of reminding to wait until the party to eat the cupcakes and open presents, and there still managed to be a few fingerprinted cupcakes! But Adair didn't mind, she thinks pretty much anything her brother does is great :0)

So, Happy Birthday to our baby. Hope there are many more to come.

I'm 1!

These are all the ladybug treats that Carmen made for the party :0)
I think she likes her hat...or maybe she needs cake
Ahhh, a cupcake...YES!

Birthday party cont'd

Mmm, mmm.....
The cupcake muncher FINALLY got to munch them.

Daudi managed to get a present too.

Happy 1st Birthday to Adair on Sunday!

Well, I guess there's no better time to resurrect the blog than when we are about to celebrate our baby's first birthday. I know its been such a long time since we lost our original blog, but I have to say that I really can quite hardly believe Adair is going to be 1 already. This has unquestionably been the fastest year of my life! I remember being in the hospital when she was born like it was yesterday, but when I see her now, I hardly remember that time. All the feelings and emotions...they are still there but lots of other BETTER ones have been piled on top now. She is our favorite little girl in the whole world, mine, Jarv's and Daudi's and we'd never trade her for ANYTHING :0)

Since its her birthday and the beginning of the new blog, I thought maybe I would just start with some photos of her first year. The birthday shots will follow shortly...after the birthday party, of course :0) Also, info. on her beloved brother and other events. Hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of the holiday season.
