House building

Last weekend (Friday actually, only Friday)...we happily woke up and a backhoe arrived to dig the basement for our new house.

Here they all are marking where to dig in the field

1 2 3, GO!

Still happy about things :0)

And then the rain started. It rained and rained and rained. The hoe had to stop and it has now been sitting in the field waiting to finish the basement for a whole week. We had a couple days of sun this past week and a day of pumping out the water in the hole. Only to wake up to rain this morning (Friday, one week later). So, yes indeed, its going very well!

Hotdog supper

Last weekend we tried out Grandpa and Grandma's fire pit for the first time. It was a big hit with the kids ;0) There was not even a little fight about Daudi finishing his supper.

Adair getting her 'stroll' on. She likes walking back and forth over the bridge. A couple weeks ago, when there was still ice in the pond, she sat down on the edge of the bridge and tried to dip her toes in the water. She promptly fell RIGHT IN. Jacinda and kids were here and we were having a picnic on the deck so at least I was close by to fish her out. It was a little shock to her system, I think, but all was well after a nice warm bath and some dry clothes. She is a lot more cautious now.

I think Spring is really here this time

We've been tricked a couple times now, but the snow is all gone now and everything seems to be drying up finally. Still haven't started digging out for our house yet, but maybe next week.

My laugh for today :0)

Today it was rainy here all day, so you would think that I would update the blog but I'm just getting to it now! Anyway, where to even start? However, I was looking through some pictures that I wanted to put on here and this one made me laugh today. Its not the best picture as was taken on my phone, but it was a memorable day. Jarvis and Daryn both had work stuff in Saskatoon one weekend, and brought both their darling families. Jacinda and I went shopping for a couple days, with the kids. There were a few occasions when it was only one of us with all the kids for a few minutes and we got more than a few comments to the effect of "are they ALL yours?", and "wow, you sure are a busy mom", etc. But one lady was amazed at how good they all were, that was when we'd just gotten to the mall, ha ha :0)

Ah, kids...how did we ever live without them!

Daudi's best buddy

This is Coy Hermanson. Daudi tells me quite often, 'Coy is my best, mom'. A few weeks ago they had their first sleepover. It was lots of fun, they wanted to wear each other's pj's at bed time, so here they are goofing around.
I wanted to post this second picture because its so classic 'you're my best, right Coy?' A few months back when they were just getting to know each other, one day Daudi was putting his boots on as we were going somewhere and put them on the wrong feet. Something he hasn't done in ages and hardly ever did even before. Anyway, when I said to him 'your boots are on the wrong feet' he said to me 'no mom, this is the right feet because Coy wears his like this'. Yes, I hope this young man grows up to be a better influence on my son! :0)

So...that was March!

And this is our blog with not one update, oops. We have been very busy with sleepovers and holidays this month so haven't had much time to think about updating. Anyway, will work on it. Here are a few of the kids.

For some reason i'm having trouble getting a nice sibling picture

Adair's new thing is telling secrets. She loves it, she will whisper sweet nothings ('sss, pss, pss') into your ear and then pull back and giggle with her hand over her mouth. I didn't catch it in the second picture, but its quite entertaining ;0)

A visit to baby Gavin

This past weekend we finally went to visit the newest member of our family, baby Gavin. He was born 3 weeks ago to Tim and Carla (Jarvis' younger sister and husband). I think his actual due date was today, but he surprised everyone and came a little early :0) He is so sweet and small and very very good.

Daudi was so proud to hold him, he sat here for a good half an hour holding him.
